Fr Greg Boyle, SJ, gives Dowmel Lecture at BC High

Five hundred friends and benefactors of the New England Province attended the second Dowmel Lecture at Boston College High School on June 5, given by Fr. Greg Boyle, SJ, author of "Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion" and founder of Homeboy Industries.

The Dowmel Lecture is an occasional lecture in honor of J. Leo and Catherine Dowd and is sponsored by Provincial Myles Sheehan, SJ, and the New England Province of Jesuits. The Dowmel Lecture honors the generous bequest made by the Dowds to the New England Province of Jesuits.  If you missed the lecture, you can watch the video below.

Fr. Boyle is an acknowledged expert on gangs, intervention and re-entry, and today serves on the U.S. Attorney General’s Defending Childhood Task Force.  Homeboy Industries' mission is: Jobs not Jails. Homeboy Industries assists at-risk and formerly gang involved youth to become positive and contributing members of society through job placement, training and education.
