Brian Conley, SJ Professed Final Vows on Feast of St. Ignatius

 

Brian Conlry, SJBrian Conley was born on September 11, 1962, the second of five children.  Brian attended  Dedham Public Schools and graduated from Dedham High in 1980.  He attended Suffolk University where he studied Computer Information Systems and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  Brian worked for the next eight years as a computer programmer for the Town of Needham, Stop & Shop Supermarkets, and Codman and Shurtleff, a Johnson & Johnson Company.  In addition, Brian earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Boston College in May 1992. 

Brian entered the Society of Jesus on August 30, 1992 and professed first vows in August 1994.  He has worked primarily in pastoral ministries including work as a hospital chaplain and a prison chaplain. In addition, Brian has worked with young people teaching CCD and coaching basketball.  During his formation, Brian earned a Master in Arts in Philosophical Resources from Fordham University and a Master in Divinity from the Weston Jesuit School of Theology. 

In September 2000, Brian returned to Georgetown University Hospital where he began his current assignment, serving initially as a staff-chaplain and beginning the ACPE Supervisory certification process.  Brian was ordained a deacon in October 2000 at St. Peter’s Church in Cambridge, Mass.  Bishop Laurence Burke ordained Brian a priest on June 16, 2001 at St. Ignatius Church in Chestnut Hill, Mass.  Brian is currently Director of Mission and Pastoral Care at Georgetown University Hospital and the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) recently certified him as a Clinical Pastoral Education supervisor.
