New Novices enter novitiate in Jamaica on August 14, 2008

 

Garvaundo Antonio Hamilton

Garvaundo Antonio HamiltonGarvaundo Antonio Hamilton, 19, is from Yallahs, St. Thomas, Jamaica. He graduated from St. George’s College where he concentrated in Social Sciences. After graduating, he worked as an internal teller and compliance officer at the Jamaica National Building Society (a financial institution).  His main interest lies in music (singing) and social work.  He has won multiple gold medals for solo performances at the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) Festival of Music and Arts.  He has served as vice-president of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (St. Bartholomew’s Conference) and president of the Catholic Youth Movement in the Archdiocese of Kingston, Jamaica. Garvuando recently traveled to Sydney and Brisbane in Australia as a member of the Jamaican delegation for World Youth Day 2008.

Dayne Malcolm

Dayne MalcolmDayne, 27, is from Portmore, Jamaica. He attended Portmore Community College where he also worked as an assistant English teacher.  Prior to Portmore Community College, Dayne worked as a coordinator and host for children’s parties.  He has been active in various ministries at his home parish, where he has served as an assistant to the Catholic Youth Movement (CYM).  In addition he has regularly worked as camp counselor at several youth camps.  He likes music and plays the keyboard.
